Stephanie Hanna
I want to challenge viewers to take action, move and think for themselves.
I like to discover and experience the new, and frequently use drawing/ painting,
audio and video, objets-assemblés, site-specific installations, performance and
participative approaches in my works, often mixing or displacing them to find new points of view. With a background in theatre design, I like (hidden) narratives and am conscious about the aspect of time in art perception.

Three some-things - thoughts, feelings, observations – taking place on consecutive Saturdays in a side window of a Neukölln department store.
Three some-ones - artists, performers, beings - pose urgent questions to themselves and the public about the duality of inner and outer perception, economic market functionality and / or aesthetic sensitivity.
Visual artist Stephanie Hanna observes the outside world from inside her window, interacting through drawing, employing the window pane as her canvas. Gradually, the windows become illustrated by her observations, questions and perceptions. Stephanie invites public participation by providing street chalks, blurring the boundaries between the observed and observer, artist and audience, inside and outside.
